Barnacle

today it was the moonless night
the tide retreats into its shell
reveals hollows and summits
on this waveworn body
I divide memories into recyclable
unrecyclable
debris collected from reflux time lapses
succoured to this oyster stuck to rock
pairs of fringed fingers comb the ripples
blink scuttal valves close
domular shaped shadows
reel in ring lines from edge water
cast away hands back to myself
